Castle Acre Primary School

Monks and knights at castle acre

Monks and knights have returned to Castle Acre thanks to artistic school children.

Youngsters in the Barn Owl class at Castle Acre Primary School created the papier mache figures after being inspired by the wicker giants created by French and Flemish communities.

The 22 pupils, who are aged between eight and 11, were then charged to research the village’s Castle and Priory before making the figures.

The school’s giants are now on display at the visitor centre at the Priory.
