Many friends and parents joined us for a writing session on 24th January. After looking at a book about a polar bears we had a go at writing a sentence about an arctic animal using extended noun phrases. Easy, you might think!
We started off with just the name of the animal (noun) and then added words to describe it (adjectives). Gradually we built up the sentence, adding an adverbial phrase last of all (how our animal did something) to make a really interesting sentence.
Together with a picture we had drawn, we strung the ever lengthening sentences together to make a mobile which are now hanging in the classroom. Do come and take a look sometime.
