Castle Acre Primary School

Pupil Premium and Service Premium

The Pupil Premium - c. £1,515 is allocated to children from families who are eligible for free school meals and children were eligible for free school meals any time in the last 6 years.  It is also allocated to children who have been or are being looked after by the Local Authority - this means that they were or are in the care of the local authority - and schools receive c. £2,630 to support their wellbeing and learning.

Service Premium - c. £350 - is for children who have a parent or parents currently serving in the armed forces, or who have done any time in the last 6 years.  This money should be used to support pastorally in the case of a family experiencing deployment, and can support with the child's learning if that is the main need. At Nar Valley we are proud to support service families, and our approach is to get to know the child and then discuss with the family the way they think they would like the funding spent. We now have a Military Club, which runs across the Nar Valley Federation, so that our children have the bond with others who have been through deployment but also to celebrate how proud we all are that their families serve our country.

The Nar Valley Leadership team work hard to allocate Pupil Premium funding in order to support emotional well-being, to support strong learning and attendance, and for the good of all children.
