Castle Acre Primary School

Our Churches

St James the Great at Castle Acre, All Saints at Narborough and St Mary's at Sporle

Our local churches are really important and special places to us. We often spend time there to learn more about the Christian faith, to look at the architecture and features or to carry out an act of Collective Worship.  Our families are invited termly to join us to celebrate special events at the churches.

As Church of England schools we hold a Christian act of worship every day.  Emphasis is put on living our lives in a way which is caring towards others, ourselves and the environment. Collective Worship plays a very important role in setting the tone of school life.  We aim to create an atmosphere of peace, understanding and awareness.  Collective Worship is conducted in a broadly Christian tradition which is non-denominational. We use our school values and  the ‘Values for Life’ resource to support the planning and delivery of Collective Worship.  Our children lead our Circles of Reflection.

Our daily Collective Worship is led by the children, staff team and by our wonderful Fr Richard and Mother Angela at Castle Acre and Narborough,  Rev Nigel at Sporle and Graham Chittock who is from the Methodist community all come in regularly.

Parents may withdraw their children from the Collective Act of Worship if they put in a written request to do so; we would strongly encourage anyone considering this to come and have a chat with us as we find that any worries are often alleviated and solved this way. We feel that our acts of collective worship welcome and include people from all faiths or none and that everyone benefits from a daily time of peace, spirituality and reflection.
