Castle Acre Primary School

The School Day

DROP-OFF and COLLECTION TIMES DURING COVID-19

A member of staff will be on the gate to greet you and direct your child into school.

Y4&5 - 8:40am; 3:10pm

YR-3 - 8:50am; 3:00pm

Morning session: 8.55am - 12 noon.

Afternoon session: 1pm - 3.10pm.

School starts at 8.55am with the school gates being open from 8.45am, so children can have a calm start to the day. Please wait by the gates or in front of the bike shelter until the pupil entrance is open. Many parents of younger children like to bring them to the classroom so they are settled. The pupil entrance remains open until 8.55am and then the main office entrance needs to be used. Children arriving after 8.55am will be marked as late in the register so please be punctual as learning starts promptly.

If your child is ill, please telephone the office; messages can be left before the start of the school day. Children arriving after 9.25am will have an absence which is classified as unauthorised, unless the school has previously been notified that for example, there has been a medical appointment.  If the school does not know why your child is absent, then families will be contacted by the school secretary.

Your child’s attendance at school is of great importance to us, consistent late arrival and absence is highly disruptive to their education and has to be reported.  If there are any problems preventing your child from arriving promptly or causing absence please do come and speak to us at the earliest opportunity.  It is really important to keep us informed of any changes that may be occurring at home so that we can support your child.

School finishes at 3.10pm and children will be brought to the school gate for collection.

At the end of the school day, the staff will only release children to a known adult. If there are different arrangements or unknown adults collecting your child, please inform the class teacher at the beginning of the day or the school office as soon as possible. If for any extraordinary circumstances, children are not collected, then the school will use the emergency contacts in the relevant order, as provided by the family.
